Her true identity was kept from her to prepare her for a mission, a destiny only she can fulfill. Halen is a siren, which means she's half-human and half-Elosian. Elosia is an underwater realm, a place Halen has never heard of, but has to get to know quickly, so she'll be able to save herself and many others. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Janine -- Hooked from page one, a suspenseful tale of magic and mermaids : This book had me at the very first page, with our protagonist, Halen, struggling with her strange powers, while at the same time, obsessed with drawing this boy for the last few months. Then things go down the drain for her, as she discovers that nothing in her life is what it seems to be, while navigating near constant danger. The story kept pulling me in, especially with the well done end of chapter cliffhangers, I finished it in two days, spending every spare moment I had to find out what happened to Halen and her allies next. The book is highly beautiful in terms of its stories and words. The author weaved a fantasy world with her words that created “magick” in your heart. This magick pulls you inside the book so that you don’t stop reading it until you have reached the last page. So, a word of warning- start reading this book only when you free time for you would highly neglect all the other chores to complete reading the book (in the same manner that I did). Though a young adult book readers of every age would love to get lost in the highly engrossing story. There is always the suspense of what would happen next. There are so many mysteries and so many layer that readers are kept on edge. Just when we feel that we have solved a particular mystery a new mystery crops up. She discovers that she is actually a very powerful blue moon siren and her destiny is to destroy Asair.
